The 2026 Impreza Lineup
Subaru kept it simple. So will we — here's the honest difference.
2.0-liter, 152 hp, the 11.6-inch screen, full EyeSight, and standard AWD nothing else in this price range offers. Trade-off: the engine is adequate, not eager — fine in town, working hard on the grade.
The 2.5-liter with 180 hp — the same engine as the Crosstrek and Forester — plus sportier suspension and 18s. Trade-off: at this number you're one step from a Crosstrek, and we'll tell you honestly which fits better.

Honest Guidance
The Impreza question is usually less "which trim" and more "is this the right car" — so here's both.
Sport. It's the least expensive new Subaru, the safety suite is the same one in the $50k cars, and the hatch swallows more than you'd guess. This is the smart-money answer, full stop.
RS — the 180-hp engine transforms freeway merges, and the chassis is legitimately fun. But cross-shop it against the Crosstrek Premium yourself; RS is the sharper drive, Crosstrek the higher seat and clearance.
