The 2026 WRX Lineup
The engine never changes. You're choosing transmission, seats, and suspension — here's the honest breakdown.
The whole point of the car at the lowest price: full 271-hp turbo, 6MT, the same chassis. Trade-off: cloth, small screen, steel-feel interior. The purist math says buy this and tires.
$1,500 adds the 11.6-inch screen, heated seats, and the daily-livability features. The value pick for most buyers.
Leather-and-suede Recaros, Harman Kardon, blind-spot. $38,995 with the 6MT; $39,995 if you want the SPT automatic. Trade-off: $5k over Premium is comfort, not speed.
SPT automatic only, Recaros, and electronically adjustable dampers. Trade-off: no manual — the GT is the fast-commuter WRX, and it's honest about it.
STI-tuned adaptive dampers, Brembos, gold calipers, 6MT only. The best-handling WRX in the lineup. Trade-off: same engine as the $32k car — you're paying for chassis, and it's worth it if you use it.

Honest Guidance
Enthusiast cars attract dealer games — markups, mystery add-ons, "market adjustment" stickers. We don't do any of that. Here's the straight read.
You want the rawest version of the rally formula. Base or Premium with the 6MT — the mechanical experience is identical to the $45k trims, and the money saved buys a lot of track days.
Traffic on the 5 five days a week, canyons on Sunday. Limited SPT or GT — the automatic is legitimately good now, and the adjustable dampers on GT make the commute civil without dulling the weekend.
Palomar, Ortega, Angeles Crest. The tS is the one — STI dampers and Brembos are exactly the hardware those roads reward. If that sentence made your ears perk up, you already know.
